CALL FOR ENTRIES - OHIO STATE FAIR FINE ARTS EXHIBITION-
Open to Ohio Artists
Announcing the Ohio State Fair Fine Arts Exhibition, funded by the Ohio Arts Council and the Ohio Expositions Commission. This year the esteemed jurors include Tim Portlock of Philadelphia, PA, Mike Ferris of New York, NY, and Anderson Turner of Kent, OH.( see below)


This exhibition is open to Ohio artists and typically awards more than $15,000 from such partners as the Ohio Art Council, many local arts councils, and art groups. The exhibition includes more than 300 works of Art in all mediums and disciplines and draws more than 34,000 visitors.

The Fine Arts Exhibition is now accepting images in Digital format only beginning this year. We will be working with the Ohio Arts Council to facilitate this transition. And hope that the format change will bring in more artists from all of Ohio. We are very excited about this new process, and hope you are as well!

Meet our 2008 Juror, Anderson Turner

Anderson Turner Bio


Anderson Turner is currently the Director of Galleries Adjunct Professor and Adviser to the Kent State University Art School. He earned a BFA from the University of Arizona, and MFA in Ceramics from Kent State University. He has exhibited regionally and nationally. Mr. Turner has been recognized with various awards and scholarships by the Akron Area Art Alliance, Ohio Art League, Vermont Studio Center, and others.

Anderson, a published author has written several books and journals, with a ceramic focus, as well as written for such publications as, Ceramics Monthly, Pottery Making Illustrated, and Metalsmith Magazine. Anderson currently resides in Garrettsville, Ohio
